| The Clerk of Course is responsible for all the paperwork at the meet before the swimmers swim. This includes check-in, seeding, preparation, and distribution of lane timing record forms. Also included are the preparation, posting, and distribution of heat sheets for deck-seeded events to all appropriate officials and spectators. Verifier sits in the clubhouse and verifies that the times entered into the computer match the written times. The runner works with the Clerk of Course and Verifier. They also bring lane timing forms to the scribes and pick up finished time forms. |

| Announces meet events, calls swimmers to the ready bench, announces shift change for volunteers, plays music during the meet, and keeps the “groove” going for the Meet. |

| The Ready Bench is the key to keeping the meet on schedule. These volunteers organize the swimmers into heats and ensure they report correctly before the start of each event. Works with the Clerk of Course, Officials, and Team Parents. |

| Meet Setup, Tear Down and Parking signs set up |

| Responsible for set-up of various canopies, tables, trash cans, tarps chairs, etc., the morning of the meet. After the meet, tear down and put the equipment away. Parking signs also need to be set out during set up and removed during tear down. |

Head Timer, Timers & Scribes

| Head timer makes sure all timers are ready prior to each heat and signals the starter and keep time for backup. Two timers and one volunteer having a dual role as a timer and scribe per lane are needed. The positions of being a Timer and Scribe together should be filled by someone who is an experienced timer. Home and visiting teams split these responsibilities over two shifts. |

This person runs Swim Team US data entry during the meet, gathers and enters swimmer’s information, times from all heats and events, and produces results lists.

Responsible for checking in swimmers the morning of the meet, from 6:45-7:45. The coordinator also works at check-in and makes sure it is done correctly. They also make a list of who has not checked in and give this to the Clerk of Course and Coaches.

Responsible for deciding on what and how many volunteers are needed, making sure positions are covered before the meet, and updating the website. During the meet, they help check in Volunteers making sure positions are filled. They will also keep track of the hours each family has completed.
